To cut a long story short we had a gas leak initially confirmedly by National Grid who said it was the coming from a couple of areas around pipework behind the gas hob. The original installer couldn’t fix the whole leak in the time frame we needed, he did one and left, so we called All Suberb and they came out. The back drop to this is my partner had just come out of hospital 3 days earlier after full abdominal surgery, was in a great deal of pain and looking at a 10 week recovery.

He arrived at 9.30pm did extensive (or so it seemed) checks and leak detection, including going under the floor. After nearly two hours of leak detection and noise, he told us we had multiple leaks under the floor, due old pipe fixed onto new and corroded pipes / joints. Comments he wrote on the invoice / report of his work. He also said that there wouldn’t be a guarantee replacing the pipes under the floor would work, as there was a section in the walls he hadn’t been able to check, and if the leak was still present, inspecting the pipes buried in the wall was the next step. At nearly midnight on a Thurs we knew the chance of getting some one at short notice would be nearly impossible. He agreed to comeback on Sunday and do the work. We then paid him for the call out by the chip and pin machine he carries. He left having said that he had re-capped the meter.

Something didn’t sit right so I managed to get someone the following day to check again. The first thing that engineer said, was that the gas was turned off, but wasn’t capped in according to the safety regulations,

He also insisted the pipework under the floor was fine having gone under the floor as well to check. I rang All Suberb and let the two of them talk. If my partner wasn't in so much pain, it would have been funny, the pair of them on speaker saying my tester cost £1000 so I’m right, well mine cost £1200 so I must be right. I asked All Suberb why the meter wasn’t capped and then got a raft of reasons revolving round the fact he was coming back on Sun, and admitted there ‘was a regulation’ surrounding capping of meters. Not knowing who to trust I called National Grid again, the only people I could trust. They were there within the hour.

The National Grid engineer isolated the original suspected area i.e. The gas hobs and then pressure tested (drop tested) the entire pipe network in the house. Inside of 20 mins he completely discredited All Suberb's claims of multiple leaks under the house and staked National Grids’ reputation on it. He dismissed the written report All Suberb left as ‘worthless' and also pointed out that copper and solder do not corrode. By isolating the hobs he also restored hot water and heating to the house and peace of mind to my partner, the stress was causing her increased pain. Why could All Suberb have not done the same? After all I was told several times he had over 15 years experience.

I have been in contact with All Suberb by text and tried to ask for a refund, to be told his sister was a barrister. When I asked for her details so that I could liaise direct with her, none were forth coming.
I was also and told where to go in expletive terms by text. I have two reports that contradict each other massively, one diagnosed within 20 mins from the National Grid, one from All Suberb after 2hrs paid, and with more work promised in two days over a weekend. Buyer beware, and the only people you can really trust I guess are the National Grid and British Gas, salaried employees.

If a refund isn’t forthcoming I think I have a very strong case in the small claims court. I’m considering the options and will attempt to contact All Suberb again shortly, if he refunds me, I’ll say so here..

Third time they have been to our property and the last! Used him last week to take off 4 radiators and put back on (for decorating) - charged £130. A few days after putting them back on noticed water leaking from one of the valves. Called them out and he had the cheek to ask for another £40 to replace the valve, despite the valve being perfectly fine before he worked on it. I asked him for his insurance details and he refused and left without replacing. Wouldn't use again!
