A search through the Stockport Estate Agents shows that there are a variety of apartments to rent from one bedroom at £120 pcm upwards. Stockport’s location means that there are riverside or canal side apartments available to rent but many of the apartments are in either central or residential locations. There are, of course, the very desirable penthouse apartments at rents in the region of £800 pcm. Houses commanding rents of up to and over £1,500 pcm are available either furnished or unfurnished.
When purchasing a property in Stockport, Estate Agents will be able to offer the prospective buyer properties ranging from a studio or 1 bedroom flat for around £45,000 in the Shaw Heath or Great Moor area to, for example, a seven bedroom house on the outskirts of Stockport for an asking price of around £800,000.
Many detached, semi-detached, Edwardian, and Victorian properties, together with barn conversions will be found for sale around this area. New homes are being built and it is possible to buy an executive four bedroom detached house for around £350,000.
However, if the Channel 4 programme “Where Best to Invest” is to be believed, a prospective buyer need look no further than Victoria Mill dating from 1874 which has been brought right up to date with a conversion comprising of penthouses, apartments and studios. This converted cotton mill benefits from its central location in a conservation area.
