Hi guys, I am a 1st Dan black belt in shotokan karate and a 1st Dan in shorin ryu karate. I have trained in martial arts for 30 years, I was the all Ireland kata and kumite champion. I have also won the Welsh shotokan/shorin ryu gold medal for team and men's open kumite. I was European knock down karate champion gold medalist (kumite) in shotokan. Having researched many clubs in the city of Manchester, there was simply only one club that stood out BUSHIDO MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY. I was really hoping that the club was as amazing as their website, as I was looking for an honest dojo that would accommodate both my sons and myself at the highest level of martial arts. Myself and my family instantly felt at home in the welcoming, relaxed and professional atmosphere. Having trained with some of the highest ranking martial artist in the world including Japanese masters, I can honestly say Master John Robertson is simply one of the best Masters I have had the privilege to train under. He is a dedicated, loyal, approachable, honest man who admires and respects his students regardless of rank. I was recently awarded life long membership of Okinawa karate for 30 years of karate experience and I am really proud to be a student of Bushido Martial Arts as this is where my journey now lies and my sons are begining on their path in martial arts.
